Desktop: Exodus.io (nice design, supports also altcoins), Electrum.org (only BTC), Wasabiwallet.io (adds privacy to BTC transactions due to "mixing" up transactions (at least for small transactions) and using Tor network, haven't used that but looks promising).

    Hardware: Ledger Nano and Trezor.

In my opinion the safest way is cold storage using a paper wallet, but it's not useful for regular withdrawals. You can generate one for example with a desktop wallet, it contains of 12 or more words that are generated by the wallet and are used to retrieve your private keys. Just write them down on paper, lock them up in a safe deposit box, and then delete it on your computer. Or generate one on bitaddress.org (create it while being offline).

The Atomic desktop wallet is also pretty good and supports 290+ coins.

The Sugi Wallet is also another excellent one worth considering! It has the ability to support cold/offline storage. Sugi supports bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP (XRP), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC) and all ERC20 tokens. It's definitely a good investment.

I agree. Best hot wallets are the HW wallets.

And best cold wallet is just the seed generated in computer that was never connected to the internet, something like this: [EDIT: The wallet bitcoinpaperwallet is no longer legit] We removed the link and info regarding....

I owned KeepKey from Shapeshift, I would not recommend it as a hardware wallet, you're better off with the Ledger Nano or Trezor.

Exodus and Electrum are great wallets that Ive been using. At the end of they day it doesn't matter much what wallet you use as much as keeping your private keys, backup seed safe and secured.

Back when I first bought it in 2017, it had no support for ERC-20 tokens, it wasnt always detected by my PC and customer support was bad, those were enough to get rid of it. To be honest I have no idea on how the product is doing now.

I`m using Ledger Nano as cold wallet for last few years, where I keep some of my crypto.
Not familiar with the other wallets, but I am more than satisfied with Ledger so far.

There is a new wallet called Argent. Looks prettny neat and it allows to easily take loan by MakerDAO or earn interest by Compund Finance.

Idk where to post it. But IMO one of features that are necessary for cold wallets (and useful for hot) wallets are "spend from".
This is why I like electrum and not that much Ledger Nano (where it is also possible to spend from address, but one needs to do it through detour and then whole wallet is ****** up in terms of records of used addresses/accounts).

It is cool to use mixer in the wallet but it is pretty much useless. Unless you do some complete sh1tjob like kidnapping kids, it is counterproductive to use mixer. Doing affiliate marketing and gambling really is not that black business. Sometimes I even use DNM for psychedelics (this is exactly where I want to know which coins I used), but I see no reason why to mix the coins. Even if I bought them on exchange it is just enough to send the coins few times in your own wallet and no one gives a **** (if you are buyer of the stuff, not seller ofc).

However to be able to track addresses, create as much as needed even upfront, that is the important feature for us. And the Ledger is lagging here. It is however possible connect ledger to electrum and then it works as needed. Just one has to realise that what is called "account" in Ledger, is actually whole Electrum wallet. And the wallet is derived by derivative path from Ledger seed. Chaning the 3rd digit at derivative path is creating always different Electrum wallet secured by Ledger seed. I just realised that few days ago. I am not sure if it helps to someone (it is needed if you have some old BCH at Ledger and you want to claim BSV - in case you need help with this PM me).

I have a few ledger nano wallets. They work perfectly.

There's bluetooth version but tbh I wouldn't want to add any additional risk to a wallet. Plug n play and lock away..

I have not looked at electrum yet. Is this like choices in a drop down menu?

I like trezor. You use it with the trezor website interface and its as simple as it gets. You can create as many wallets as you want with new 25th words. I bought a ledger nano a couple years ago and hated it. Found it silly with the little buttons you had to keep pressing and it was definitely not as user friendly as the trezor imo. But, hey, I find crypto far from user friendly as it is and its why I can never see it being adopted by the masses like the crypto fanboys think it will. Call me a hater.....lol, My 2 cents. I tolerate it only because I have no choice.
