Post Welcome to the Colossus Bets Forum!

    Hi Everyone,

We here at the Colossus Bets Affiliate Team are very excited about the upcoming launch of our affiliate programme, and we hope you are too!

In case you haven't heard yet, Colossus Bets offers players a unique experience unlike any other product currently in the online gaming industry: The opportunity to win lottery-sized prizes on sports.

With a day 1 minimum weekly prize of ?0,000,000, the "Colossus" is the world's biggest sports bet. This "Pick 7" correct score football pool bet not only gives players the chance to win prizes never before seen in sports betting, but it allows them to take control of their destiny by cashing-in live tickets (in full or in part), as their bet progresses. Players can bank profits from a ticket whilst retaining part ownership of the ticket and the corresponding rights to any dividends at the conclusion of the pool.

As a Colossus Bets affiliate, you will be among the first to cash in with one of the rarest and most promising commission structures offered: 5% of bets placed for 5 years followed by 3% for life. On top of that, we'll be paying everyone on turnover and wins! You will earn 2% of player wins for life - no negative carry over, no hidden issues or agendas, just a mutual benefit and a strong partnership between both parties.

Sound interesting? Have any questions? Please feel free to reply to this thread or PM me and I'll be more than happy to provide more information. We’re looking forward to working with you!

Stay tuned to this forum for the most up-to-date news concerning the Colossus Bets Affiliate Programme.

    All the best,
    Andrew

Very interesting to see an updated version of the pools concept.

My biggest reservation is that 30% of every bet goes out of pool in company / affiliate costs, and that makes it a significant -EV bet, which will bother the savvy gambler which is a big part of our readership on site.

What techniques, phrases, or strategies do you recommend to overcome this objection?

    TheGooner,

Thanks - it is a very good question but I think it is one that upon examination suggests that the savvy gambler will actually love us. Your point does confirm it is a natural question that we must address, so here is our answer…

As you state the takeout per pool is 30% - we think this is very competitive based on the following:

    1. The nearest sports betting comparable is a correct score accumulator with a bookmaker. A bookmaker's correct score market typically bets to between 130%-135% (i.e they have a 23%+ margin on EVERY leg). Even if you discount that to 125%, you have aneffective takeout of about 20% on each leg, which produces a total takeout on a seven leg bet of 80%. (calculation is .8^7=.21) I think punters often don’t realise how the margin per leg quickly escalates out of control in multiples bets. On top of that, bear in mind that a bookmaker's winnings cap will be ?million (less in some cases), so the day 1 minimum for the Colossus (?0,000,000) is 10 times the maximum available with a bookmaker.

    2. The standard takeout for a multi-leg pool bets generally (and bear in mind none of these have million pound + guarantees), is around 30%. For example the UK Tote's Scoop6 bet operates with a 30% takeout, The V75 in Sweden operates with a 35% takeout and the Sportech football pools have takeouts of up to 60%+. Again they are NOT offering the chance to win a minimum of ?0,000,000 - there has never been a pool of this size for any sports bet in the UK.

    3. Given that Colossus Bets is offering lottery-sized jackpots which are not available in sports betting, if you consider that a lottery is a more appropriate benchmark, then it is worth noting that the 'takeout' from stakes in the UK National Lottery is close to 50%.

Thanks for asking this – it is a very valid question which we as we as a company and you as an affiliate may have to address. We think however that our takeout stands up to the closest of scrutiny when you consider the points I raise above.

    Regards

Personally, I really like what Colossus Bet is doing. I view it as a new type of product offering that has the attractiveness of a lottery in terms of the potential for a life-changing win, while also engaging the player in having a vested interest in the outcome of a series of sporting events. So, I think it could easily capture some of the huge lottery spend for folks that like sports as well. But the bottom line is that I like innovative products, and like to be able to tell folks about new ideas they might like. So on our Casino City website we are definitely going to be spreading the word, and we anticipate it will be financially rewarding to do so.
