Default USA and Canada Links Budget

    Hi,
Starting a affiliate site for Canada and USA, what budget should I keep in mind per month for links?

    Hi Aryaman,
Canada and USA are highly competitive markets. It all depends on how niched you are and what kind of keywords you want to go after. You should bear in mind that it is not only backlinks that matter as well. If you are smarter than you competitors with all your other SEO factors you can spend less on backlinks as well.
But to be more concise I would say absolute minimum 2500 per month.

Those are two of the most expensive markets. I would say the minimum is $2000, but it’s not just about the money (poorly invested $2000 will turn into nothing). It's also about the overall strategy and the current state of your business. If you could share a bit more about that, I would be happy to give you a more accurate estimate.

Thanks. I am looking to for a high quality campaign which has to deliver results, so would an assumption of $4k/month be fine? Also where could I get iGaming links there?

It is a existing website which high quality links in the industry, just pivoting to affiliates considering how valuable the brand is.

Having a website that targets Canada, I can say there's really no "minimum" amount. Neither is there a good time increment to split it by (i.e. week, month, etc.)
This mostly depends on your expectations and kw strategy, but imo. the suggested $4k per month is an overkill. Especially if this is a brand new website we are talking about. Obviously, you can get 1 link for 4k if that's the fee the seller quotes, but investing that much every month in building links without having tested out your KW strategy (and being certain that it is what you want and it works) is likely not worth it. Then again, depends on your overall budget. Perhaps that 4k per month is just a drop in the ocean.

We have very old sites that rank high in both Markets and we spend more on content than links ,in fact we don't even buy links but many link to us which is the best compliment you can have.

The average price for an advertorial or a contextual link in a website worthwile from US/CA is around 300$. Check your competitors, see what links they have and do the math.

Hi iCazino, which software do you use to check links to competitors ?

Casinodad, there is an overpriced garbage called Ahrefs, it's good, at some things. New people and DA believers love it.

Watch the YT video here, John is a funny guy, and very knowledgeable, lol.

Actually Ahrefs now have a "beginner" subscription, which is just 23 EUR per month. I tried it and it actually gives me exactly what I need. Might not suit everyone's needs, but absolutely worth the 23 Euros imo.

This is not a paid Ahrefs promotion

They've likely dropped the price because Clicks.so offers the same thing at a price that's 5 times lower.

Alternatively, check out SEO PowerSuite - just get a professional annual subscription, spend some time getting used to it, and you won't need anything else. The only downside is that it works as software on your computer instead of running online. Otherwise it has more features than all of those fancy tools, but needs a bit of understanding.

You can even input 1,000 keywords, set 10 countries, and it will find where exactly they rank across all of them - site visualization, 20 keyword research methods, and a content editor similar to Surfer - all there.

Here it looks for 10,000 keywords in one go and once it's done the stats will get updated. It's good stuff, i like it.

I would suggest taking your max budget and then divide it by 12, adding incrementally monthly throughout the month, over the course of a year. this will get you the best results.

    Good luck!
