Default Ukraine's Misplaced Priorities: APCW Perspectives for 10 May 2024

    Ukraine's Misplaced Priorities

We're following several online gambling stories out of Ukraine,
where there seems to be a misguided focus on internet gambling
even as the country reels from war.

There's better news coming out of Europe,
which could translate to better business
    for operators and affiliates.

Blocking illegal gambling sites is not a new matter; what is interesting in the case of Ukraine is that, under the auspices of the war, a thriving black market of gambling developed, which probably created a serious problem and damage for them there and they don't have time to deal with it properly during wartime... I am the last to judge the Ukrainians during wartime; they are going through a difficult time...

That thing, looks much smaller when you were closer to the camera, it's huge!

Im pretty sure the UKGC have played a big part in these decisions by putting preasure on them via the UK government.

Black markets (of any kind) thrive in times of crisis. I get it, people look for ways to distract themselves with whatever options are available. However, I do not think this ban is due to moral matters or the well-being of people; it’s simply not beneficial for them if soldiers have their minds occupied with other things and, even worse, if economic problems lead them to pawn whatever they have on hand, like weapons, to who knows whom.
