Sports Affiliates Moving to Casino

Hi all, in these unceratin times for sports affiliates, do you have any plans to move your content into the casino sphere? If so, how will you go about this and are you expecting to see much revenue?

I am planning on producing some content around casino given the lack of football and would be interested to hear anybody elses thoughts on this, best casino products to go with etc? Would you advise using sportsbook first operators such as bet365, WH or move into casino specific affiliate programmes?

Depends how generic your traffic is, if you rank for 'football' terms, for example, I don't think pushing casino will have a great impact as your traffic will be down anyway and the intent is not there. If you rank for something like 'betting' generally it may be worth a shot. If you push through social or other channels it may also work to a degree.

Wouldn't expect to cover much of the loses from sports in this way though, would be better focusing on dedicated casino portals that will reduce reliance on sports for anything similar in the future.

In terms of existing sports accounts it is a good opportunity to see which programs are actually good at cross-product conversion.

If most of the big events are rescheduled the traffic and accounts will still come eventually, they will just be delayed. It's a matter of waiting it out largely for me.

I moved over from Sports to Casino about 3-4 years ago now and it was a good move... I still promote sports a little but casino and live casino in particular are more profitable

yes, there a lot of daily eSports events, but it will take time since eSports betting is more profitable than normal sports, i think

I disagree that eSports will be such a huge thing, until the industry realizes that betting on eSports means betting ok kids.

I can not see the video game industry stopping allowing participation, sponsorship or turning "pro" based on age. If a 14 or 15 year old is good enough, they will continue to compete, and should be able to.

But I "can" see the betting industry in regulated markets taking a stance against betting for or against esports if it does involve minors.

Would you reasonably assume that bookies should start carrying action on high school football? (not withstanding any private betting already taking place) What about betting on peewee sports too?

At some point I do think regulators will look at it all closer.

This is short term solution, but in the long run it can not hold
We see more affiliates promoting virtual sports these days

Virtuals to me are also the key in short term.

YOu have again sport in veru short period of times.

When people want to bet, they will find the most common assets or parts.

If I am 50-50 years old man, who bets pre-match or live on football, will never-ever tast esports, but virtuals.

In these hard times, we have to be very flexible.

I don't know that we all have to MOVE our sports content completely over to casino. I think you can do a number of things to relieve this slow/no sports period.

- Take this time to build some long term evergreen sports betting articles. Strategy, reviews, guides, etc... Things that aren't event and time related.

- Spend some time auditing your old content and cleaning it up. As sports people, we often time are running 24x7x365 to keep up with the next game. Now we have a break, improve the content and SEO of what you have.

- Move into another niche. As mentioned above, casino is always a good space that isn't going away anytime soon. I personally think esports is a great vertical that is going to continue to grow in popularity. But I'm also a bit concerned about "how to monetize" it from an affiliates side of things.

Plenty to do in the content space for sure! Hope you all are staying safe.

I think, as any hard times, its the best time to change, learn new, clean, adjust and move on.
Sport events will return, sooner or later, but the traffic today need to be redirected to a merchant who knows what to do with it and how to monetise

You can't cross-sell if that's what you had in mind. It won't work.

Casino is a much better niche than sports but you need a dedicated website.

My take on this is that casino players prefer pure casino brands, not sports brands that also have casino.

100% Agree, but there is a space for new products in the market.
5 years ago no one players virtual sports, no one bet on eSports events an no player knew how to verify provably fair dices. Today its part of the portfolio in most casinos and its just make sense to see better cross selling than before.

I have all but let my sports site go. I have numerous casino sites ready to be worked on, but it's a tough market and I'm thinking working for casino affiliates might be more profitable than spending money on my own site.

Years ago I moved into casino just as a side lie when sports were on break for summer, it was the best move I ever made.

As far as I can see , there will be not sports for at least 3-5 more months.

Inclined to agree that we won't see any meaningful sporting action until the autumn at least.

Perhaps it will slowly come back with severe restrictions in some sports after that, behind closed doors would make most sense, however the modelling suggests that there will be periods of stricter social distancing for up to 18 months to control the flow of cases into healthcare systems.

No doubt Casino is the normal and perfect ( maybe ) move from Sports Betting
Anyone here tried other products like Dice, Virtual sports, Lottery ?

We have to think as from punter point of view :

- if I am bettor on sports like : football, basketbal, tennis or box . I will search for similarities.

- So If I have planned to make bets on daily basis with a budget I will definitely test, try and bet on virtuals.

- Dice is more Asian style of gambling.

- Lottery is for old people ( I will definitely skip it).

- If you have sports orientated site definitely make a swith or at least produce content on the virtual section of any site you promote.

I will give another prospective as a former sports trader. We had a lot of players who placed plenty of bets on vurtual sports like : football and basketball. Like if you have the fever, passion or addiction to do it, yes you will choose virtuals.

You really can not cross sell. I was trying even before just to see how it does not work. Simply people who come to sports site want surprisingly sport and bet on sport and not on some virtual bs. Yes, many from those degenerate sport bettors will in the end switch to other gambling. But it does not work for getting new gamblers.

You can not also bid on "bet on league XYZ" and give them again some virtual bs or casino.

Those things are close in your affiliate interface, but stop this magic thinking. You can not sell bra in style of grandma in popup shops for teens. It is just laughable of you try.
