Yes.. no big stars (besides Buffon who is getting on :P) but that is why they are playing so well. They play as a team and with a lot of heart.

Juve players are obv good but I actually think Giaccherini has had the best tournament.

Yeah rugby league hahaha. Actually Aussies played well in the World Cup. They were in the toughest group.

I don't know a country that brought as many football legends as Italy

And they were very often saved by the penalties Like in the Fifa Wold Cup's (2006) final with France
Or in Euro 2000 with Holland, when charming Toldo defended his goal 2-3 times and showed what master can a goalkeeper be :P

90% of them were/are players of Juventus

    Gigi Buffon
    Dino Zoff
    Alessandro del Piero
    Fabio Cannavaro
    Roberto Baggio
    Antonio Conte
    Bobo Vieri

    ...to be continued...
    and again

    Gaetano Scirea
    Marco Tardelli
    Antonio Cabrini
    Franco Causio
    Spillo Altobelli
    Pablito Rossi

    ...to be continued...

    plus

    Francesco Totti (ahah...)
    Gigi Riva
    Franco Baresi
    Bla, bla bla...

Not to name Legends who played in Italy (again, 90% Juventus)

    Zinedine Zidane
    Didier Deschamps
    Patrick Vieira
    Thuram
    Michel Platini
    P-A-V-E-L NEDVED! (i love him)
Zlatan Ibrahimovic (still love him I remember a fantastic goal versus AS Roma, Juventus 3 Roma 1)
    Zbigniew Boniek
    DAVI-D TRE-ZE-GUET! (i'm crying right now...)
    CARLITOS TEVEZ!
Diego Armando Maradona (the best, no other words... Naples)

    lol... tired now

    Like Brazil in 1994
Or France by a "golden goal" made by David Trezeguet in Euro 2000

Look at the list of players above. You will see only a letter: J!

Edit. I forgot one of the most understimated player in history: Darko Kovacevic!

NOOO, 2006 final France should have won... But Materazzi had done his black work against Zizou ( my best player forever).
What about legends.. maybe Holland - van Basten, Van Der Sar, de Boer, Koku, Rijkaard, Seedorf, Weah,

This is the problem with Australian football. The best talent always chases the money overseas. Australia doesn't have the luxury of having a strong local league.

"Beginning his career with his birth-town club FK Radnički Kovin, but was soon spotted by Zrenjanin based Serbian top league club FK Proleter" - oh that's a football team from my hometown Zrenjanin. Now I'm so proud!

Exactly. It's gaining momentum but most people here support league. Noone cares about the A-league much. If I was them I'd chase the money too.

I bet on Portugal to win, but because it was via penalty goals I lost my bet.

What? I didn't know that bookies don't count winning on penalties as a winning ticket. That's not fair!

I agree. So I lost all 4 of my bets, 2 of them because I tipped the wrong team and 2 because they won in overtime. I'm quitting while I'm ahead.

At least I won money on the horses on the weekend.

I actually hope Wales wins now. Just to **** everyone up.
