Why is merge doing this? This should be a great opportunity to attract new US players.

We were given a notice this week that ALL sites on the Merge Network are to abide these rules starting May 1st. We were not given an exact answer in regards to why. We are trying all our best to once again have the highest Initial deposit in the industry for our players.

It's a shame Merge is being a bully with network wide terms. One of the things that set you all apart was the generous bonus. This muddies the water for players looking for the best bonus and puts all the rooms on one level (except those that choose to go the 100% route). I had several rooms with 200% exclusive bonuses that will now become generic. The new way to set a room apart from another is going to be room exclusive promotions to entice the player to you.

Hmm, thats not the first rule i see Merge has that Carbon does not follow themselves. I did not get notice that the $2000 carbon signup bonus will expire on May 1st. lol so no room on the merge network can beat Carbon since they are the network.

I had PokerNordica tell me "no more 200% bonus". They have yet to give any other information. But that is the case for Nordica over the past year, support is nothing like I enjoy at PokerHost.

Just got a mail from Nordica stating they may no longer offer the private rake races and have to run with the network ones only. Also, effective June 1 they can no longer sign rakeback players:

Merge will no longer allow any rakeback to be offered to ANYnew players.

Any players that currently receive rakeback at Poker Nordica will not be affected by this change for now.

I have been waiting on doing a rakeback site as I had a sneaking suspicion that sooner or later rakeback would go away. I guess Merge is the frontrunner in learning they were giving away too much money. Perhaps others will follow? Will be interesting to see.

Merge is leveling the playing field, wonder what is next.
