    Cool Level of profitable casino/gambling/sportsbook

    Hi all,

After 3 years of experience in affiliate marketing within different branches (telecom, insurance and others) I started with a casino/sportsbetting campain.

With my 3 years previous affiliate marketing experience I was able to get 5,xxx+ monthly revenue in the above written markets. To keep myself motivated I started with casino/sportsbetting activities for now just a month.

One of the main attractive things about these markets is the ability of choosing for a revenue share pay out. Currently my affiliate marketing in activities dont generate any profit yet.

I have ?0 signed up players and have around 2 new signups a day in one month. Currently i'm working to raise this to 10 sign ups a day. My main question in this topic is, starting from which amount of signed up players the casino/sportsbetting market starts to get interesting?

Keep up the good work. I really enjoy reading on this forum.

    Hey there

    Welcome to the forum
I can also talk about my casino brands, though generally speaking I believe it applies to most online casinos. Sportsbooks I know nothing about

    1) Traffic research - signup to new depositor conversion rate is connected first and foremost to the traffic source. You need to find out how your visitors reach your site and which keywords (presuming it's SEO) generate the majority of traffic. Some keywords will convert 30% of the traffic. Others convert 1%. If your site is ranked #1 on "free slots no deposit bonus no credit card needed" - you may be looking at quite some time before converting a serious real money player.

    2) Choosing your partners - some casinos convert traffic better than others. In regulated markets (UK, for example), you'd like to work with partners who have all the deposit methods available, good brand recognition, and dedicated conversion and retention teams. Basically if you see good results, you know they are doing their job properly. If not, they probably don't.
In unregulated markets, such as the U.S., payment processing is the #1 factor. Since players cannot deposit using Moneybookers/Neteller (and e-wallets in general), it's hard finding a program that has a stable Visa/Mastercard payment processing, which is (if you don't mind me saying) what separates my program from the pack. With super stable payment processing, the largest casino market is up for grabs for affiliates working with us.

    3) When does it become interesting? I know affiliates who got a huge whale on their first converted player, but that's plain luck. I say about 1% of depositing players will make you good money in the long run. As long as you have a steady player-stream, you basically guarantee yourself that eventually you'll break bank with one of them.

    Hope I helped.

I think 40+ Signups in a month is quite impressive! However how many of those sign ups have actually converted into depositors? It also all depends on the quality of the traffic you get to your site. In the gambling industry keywords like Free and no deposit will probably attract low value players or bonus hunters so even if you get up 10 signups per day, that might not be as profitable as you might be thinking.

Overall, i will agree with Nick, that as long as you have a steady player-stream (but not low quality) you will get there at some point. But i don't think there is an X amount of signed up players that could be the breaking point for making it more interesting for you. At the end of the day...it's a gamble!

    Hi Nick

Thanks for all tips. Helps me a lot. I've read a lot about whale's eo. on different forums. It's something that happens with luck I guess. Main focus right now is to work with a lot of volume and sign up a lot of players. Hopefully i will hit a whale soon. I'm sure when I keep on signing up players the benefit will come by itself.

Thx for your advice. I guess it's important to have a stead player-stream in order to get a nice revenue. Today I got 4 new sign ups so thats works motivating.

I just checked my stats and 60-65% placed a deposit (is this low?!). Current balance is around -275 EUR. My main focus right now is on Sports book within Europe.

I can imagine that there is no breaking point in making a profit but I was just wondering what others experienced

24+ depositors in a month out of 40 is high, you'll do ok with that level of sign-up.

Do you target a lot on the percentage signup/depositors? Is this important data to you? Or are absolute numbers (high volume) to you more important?

For me, visitor numbers are the main focus, then on to ad placement and targeting the reader from there. You'll want to try several affiliate brands to see which is converting the best for you. You can then drop the low convertors, or relegate them to the sidelines and promote your most popular brands in the best positions.

Depending on the content of your site, visitor numbers will either fluctuate or remain fairly static. Sports betting/news sites will have peaks, slots/casino/bonus codes will remain more stable.
Sites with peaks, you'll want to rotate your ads more to take advantage of those peak times.
