    Default Freshman Questions

    Hi All,

I have been an affiliate marketer since few years now but have never worked in the gambling industry. Recently, I decided to test this arena and applied for a few online betting websites and got approved. I see that the affiliate managers here are not so helpful and/or technical. Hence, I came to this forum to get help from fellow members. Here are few questions:

    1. What are the top countries to target soccer betting?
    2. I am in Australia and I signed up with Ladbrokes, Crownbet, Sportsbet and William Hill (Aff Utd). The first 3 have provided me .com.au links and using a UK VPN redirects me to the Australia website. If I use just the .com then it opens up the UK website for Ladbrokes. I think CrownBet & SportsBet have only .com.au and target Australians mainly. I have applied for Bet365 too and expect to get approved. My question is how does this geo thing work here? If I applied for Ladbrokes Australia affiliate, can I target only Australian residents?
    3. Can anyone recommend me a good odds checker plugin for wordpress? I have seen websites display odds directly on their website. I tried a couple but they dont work and I think they havent updated since long time now.

Please free to give me more tips.
    Thanks in Advance

    1. UK. Europe. Asia. Australia. So with English language you also get to cover all of UK, and E.Europe too, as English is the standard in the sports betting community as individual markets are too small. You can also expect traffic from Kenya as English is their official language together with Swahili.
    2. It's up to the bookmaker to give the right version of the site to the visitor, and you don't have to worry too much about that part. Just choose proper links and proper banners which are already targeted towards the Australian audience. Geolocation in general is one of the more difficult things to tackle, and then you got another problem with different signup offers, so you'll do all that when you want to optimize your campaigns even further. For now stick with choosing the right link/banner.
    3. I will have a working odds widget ready within 30-60 days so PM me with your requirements. Tell me exactly what do you want out of it, it would be helpful as we're in the development phase and need input from affiliates.
