    Default Expert opinion needed !

Hello, everyone and nice to e-meet you, i am Alec. Currently i am trying to escape my gambling "hobby" by redesigning websites for symbolic payment.

Currently i am working on https://thepokeragent.com/ and need feedback about the overall visuals. I am looking to improve and work in the industry, without gambling myself.

If there are website designers or just poker enthusiasts who browse various websites, please let me know what i can improve . I am a bit of color maniac and color branding has been an interesting topic for me - maybe you have some unconventional combinations, which to make the site distinguish itself from the masses.

    Thanks in advance !

Welcome to this awesome, GPWA forum, Thracian. I was just looking through your site and I really couldn't find anything wrong with it. The layout is fantastic and professional. I really find your theme to be one of a kind and the way that you've designed and presented your logo at the top of the page, is pretty cool tbh. You've gone through a lot of effort into making the site. Congratulations and best of luck with everything, going forward.

Main thing I see is too high of a focus on "refer a friend".

Additionally, on the pages where you use bullet lists, I would suggest you add some left padding or margin to the UL or the LI's. If you add it to the css for the UL, it would also bump the numbered lists a bit as well.

Since you use a border around those div's it does make it more prominent and would look slightly cleaner with 5 or 10 or 15 pixel padding. You might have to experiment with what looks best in various resolutions and scales in mobile fine.

Seems like the lists with checkmarks do not present the issue of colliding with the border, but they probably have a built-in padding.

Ok, noted. Do you think i should incorporate more color and traditional images, or focus on simplifying the look with minimalistic visuals, with transparent images .

My idea was to make it look clean and professional and not overly colourful, but for a poker website maybe this is not the right choice ?

    Hello Alec,

Nice to e-meet you as well! It's admirable that you're actively working to redirect your focus away from gambling and towards a constructive endeavor like website design. The concept of redesigning websites for symbolic payment is a creative approach to honing your skills while also avoiding triggers associated with your previous hobby.

I took a look at https://thepokeragent.com/ and I must say, the overall visuals are quite appealing. The layout is clean and easy to navigate, which is essential for a website offering services like yours. However, if you're looking to enhance the design further, I have a few suggestions:

    1. Consider experimenting with typography to add personality to the site while maintaining readability. Different font styles can help convey the brand's identity and make the site more visually engaging.

    2. Since you mentioned being a "color maniac," leverage your passion for color branding to create a unique visual identity for the website. Play around with unconventional color combinations that reflect the energy and excitement of the poker industry while still maintaining a professional look.

    3. Pay attention to the imagery used on the site. High-quality, relevant images can enhance the overall aesthetic and draw visitors in. Consider incorporating visuals that evoke the atmosphere of a thrilling poker game.

    4. Continuously seek feedback from users and iterate on the design based on their suggestions. User feedback is invaluable for refining the user experience and ensuring the website meets the needs of its audience.

Overall, you're off to a great start with thepokeragent. Keep refining your design skills and seeking inspiration from both the design community and the world of poker. Best of luck on your journey in the website design industry, and congratulations on your commitment to positive change!

    Best regards,

Thank you so much guys for the support ! I am taking your advice and starting to test which fonts should work best for gaming/poker website.

Currently have set my eyes on poppins, but would love to hear which ones you love to use yourself . Cheers !

Poppins is a great font, but I just can't stop using Roboto. This is my favorite one.

As for your site desing, it looks great overall, but if it was mine, I would do some minor adjustments.
    1. Skip excessive use of borders or add padding in the FAQ section. Or even better, use accordion for questions.
    2. Try to make the blocks in "Best Poker Clubs Online" and "Why to Chose The Poker Agent ?" the same height.
    3. A slider looks much better for testimonials.

I may be repeating myself with the comments above

    1. I would add a description to the items under the heading "Why to Chose The Poker Agent ?"
    2. Pictures take up a lot of space and seem to serve as dividers. There is not enough text on the user's intent with pictures surrounding the text.
    3. numbered and unnumbered lists "move off" and are not found in one next to another text.
    4. Not enough variety and colors on the page. I would like that the blocks as something visually different. For example, use a block with a backing or a variety of design blocks.
    5. Not enough content to disclose the topic of the article. In fact - almost all the content is a block FAQ.
